Updates on Final Days of the 2023 Legislative Session: What Bills were Vetoed and What Bills were Signed into Law

While the 2023 legislative session came to a close in May, not all affordable housing bills that passed were signed into law. Governor Jared Polis has vetoed more legislation this year than ever before at a whopping 10 bills! Unfortunately, one of those bills was House Bill 1190, which, if signed into law, would have given local governments a right of first refusal to purchase certain multifamily properties listed for sale and preserve them for or convert them into affordable housing.
