The Welton Apartments are located within the Welton Corridor Urban Redevelopment Area which encompasses nearly 85 acres of land northeast of downtown Denver. The project was the first to receive TIF funding within the Urban Renewal Area and transformed a gravel parking lot into 223 apartments designated for income-restricted households. 212 apartments are reserved for those earning 60 percent of the area median income and 11 apartments are for those earning 30 percent of the area median income. There are two buildings, and the apartments are a mix of one and two bedroom units providing much needed housing for Denver’s Downtown workforce.
