MOC engaged with thousands of residents over four years to pinpoint needs as well as a vision and for their community. The result is the Montbello FreshLo Initiative and The FreshLo Hub, a grocery-anchored cultural arts center in the heart of the community. In partnership with the Kresge Foundation, The Colorado Health Foundation, Denver Foundation, and the Urban Land Institute, MOC tested and validated the feasibility of a food-based retail development for the area. With the support of the City of Denver, MOC proceeded with plans to incorporate affordable housing into the project.
